Of Cheektowaga, formerly of Lackawanna, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 24, 2026. Beloved wife of Donald Brown; loving mother of Gary (Debra) Brown and Lisa (Albert) DiCristofaro; cherished grandmother of Andrea (Justin) LaRosa, Julia DiCristofaro, and Nicholas DiCristofaro; daughter of the late Elia and Milica Evanovich; dearest sister of Rodna (late Robert) Tasseff, James (Elaine) Evanovich, and Angeline (late Karl) Taltos; also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mary will forever be remembered for her gentle, calm, and kind nature which was beloved by many. She was always thinking of others, even until the very end. These past several months, she let everyone know that she was at peace while comforting her family and friends. She spoke of her amazing life, and was truly grateful for her wonderful loving parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Many she knew her whole life, and others she met along the way, but none greater than her husband Donald, the love of her life. Mary met Donald in the 7th grade study hall and never looked back. They were married for over 60 years creating a beautiful family and life together. The family will be present on Sunday, March 29th from 2-6PM at the (Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3450 South Park Ave. Pomen will begin on Sunday at 4PM. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday morning at 10:15AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM at St. Stephen's Serbian Orthodox Church, (Abbott & Weber Rd., Lackawanna).
