Born to Joseph Caprio and the late Constance "Connie" Caprio. Beloved wife of almost 50 years to Tony Schumacher; loving mother of Steve Schumacher and Marie (Ron) Peters; cherished grandmother of Ryan Schumacher; dear sister of Joe Caprio, Dan (Lori) Caprio, Mike (Alana) Caprio, Cherie Sugg, Theresa (Thomas) Baker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, N.Y. 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, August 23rd, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 5771 Buell Street, Akron, N.Y. Visit rossakron.com.

Working together at Boces, Mary Jo expressed qualities of a hard worker, concerned with helping challenging students achieve to the best of their ability. Mary Jo met each day with a warm, happy smile, kind and caring disposition.. The students were drawn to her endearing nature.
I am sad to learn of her passing and extend heartfelt thoughts and prayers to family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to Tony and the entire family! Maryjo was taken from us far too soon! Her smile and cheerful greetings will truly be missed. Never did I see her without that beautiful smile on her face and, oh that laugh!!!! It´s a Caprio trait for sure. She will always be remembered! Love to all!
