A GRANDMOTHER'S THOUGHTS
A month has passed since the tragic day we lost our dear Matthew, our daily lives go on but the tears still come unexpectedly and we still look for his smiling face.
My heart goes out to my strong, beautiful, wonderful daughter who has been amazing throughout this entire tragic loss. You truly are an inspiration and your family and I will always be here for you.
I want to share these words which were part of the eulogy for our dear Matthew.
A loving smiling Matthew, always ready to smile and coo,
Caressed by his Mother's hand, warmed by her touch,
Deeply loved by his parents from the moment of conception
He already looked up to his big brother, watching him, taking notes, waiting for his chance...
He found comfort laying on his Daddy's chest, in his Mommy's arms and playing on the floor with his big brother Mikey
No nukie for him his own thumb was just perfect.
Matthew did not want for anything, He was deeply loved, adored and brought much joy to all around him.
Matthew loved to coo and talk and smile.
Each time you talked to him you were rewarded with an impish grin and the opportunity to look into his twinkling beautiful blue eyes.
A heart so pure, so innocent sent to us to enjoy for such a short time.
The question WHY WHY WHY? rises from our throats and chokes out through our tears.
No answer will ever be enough, no answer will fully explain a logical reason why.
Words and gestures of comfort extended by family and friends are extremely appreciated but in the end what can you really say?
This is only the first step in a long journey of healing. Colleen and Gary are going to need our love, support and prayers for a long time to come.
As you return to your normal routines of work, school and summer activities please keep our beautiful, darling, sweetheart Matthew and his family in your hearts and prayers.
Thank you.
My little Matty, you will remain safe in my heart forever.

Dear Gary and Colleen,
You gave up an Angel to the garden of Heaven. There Matty will grow to watch over you.
He will caress you with soft breezes. He will touch you with butterfly kisses. He will smile from the twinkling stars in the sky.
You're facing with courage, life's stormiest weather. Nothing on earth or in heaven can part a love that grows in your heart.
Love will go on through eternity.

Dear Gary and Colleen,
No words can ever ease the pain that you are experiencing now and time will only make it more bearable. Things always happen for a reason even though we may never understand why. Know that you are in our prayers to help you through your difficult time.

Gary Michael my darling son, I have no words of wisdom for you, no magic potion. What you are going through, no parent should ever have to deal with.
You have become a model parent and I am so proud of you. I knew you would be, the way you cared for your niece and little sister when they were born. You have a big heart.
Colleen, you have given me two beautiful Grandsons. They both look so much like you. You are a wounderful mom. You work so hard to keep your family together and Happy.
I don't know what to say to ease your pain. There are no words when your heart just can't be consoled. Cry your tears of Love for Matty, he is yours, you carried him and gave him life and forever he'll be in your heart.
love,
Mom

Dear Gary & Colleen, Here is a poem I thought might help to ease your pain....
Fly,Fly little wing....
Fly beyond imaging...
The softest cloud,
The whitest dove...
Upon the wind of heavens love... Past the planets & the Stars...
Leave this lonely world of ours...
Escape the sorrow & the pain...
And Fly again.
Fly, Fly precious one...
Your endless journey has just begun.
Take your gentle happiness...
Far too beautiful for this world...
Cross over to the other shore...
Where there is peace forevermore.
But hold this memory bittersweet...
Until we meet.
Fly, Fly do not fear...
Don't waste a breath or shed a tear..
Your heart is pure, your soul is free...
Be on your way, don't wait for me.
Above the universe you will climb...
The moon will rise, the sun will set...
But i won't forget !
Fly, fly little wing....
Fly where only "Angels" sing...
Fly away, the time is right...
Go now and find the light.
May God be with you now & always.
Our Deepest Sympathy & prayers

Gary and Colleen,
To lose a child is heartbreaking thats true,
My nephew, your son, I barely knew.
Unfortunately, I know what your going through.
There's noone to blame,
No finger to point,
There's nothing you could do.
You feel angry and sad,
Confused and mad,
Just remember the time you had.
His smiles, his coo, will always be with you.
Your Angels in heaven, yet still in your heart.
Whenever you think of him you'll not be apart!
