The one quality about Maureen that I truly admired was how she could make a complete stranger feel like she knew you forever.
I'm sure you have so many beautiful memories that will help you through this, along with so many good friends and family.

Maureen was a lovely woman with whom I volunteered at Nardin's Alumnae Association a few years ago.
I admired her positive attitude and her genuine enthusiasm. She will be sorely missed.

I did not know Maureen very well. But she left a lasting impression on me.

To the McMahon & McHugh families, I am sorry to read of Maureen's passing at such a young age. I never met Maureen but worked with her dad way back in the 60s at the NYS Div of Water Resources. He spoke so proudly of his young children. You are all in my prayers.

We met several times at Gilda's Family and Friends support group and I met Maureen a couple of times at Gilda's events. My tears flowed down my face when I heard of Maureen's passing. Although it is very sad now, how wonderful for you to have had someone as special as Maureen in your lives. God certainly called to him the very best of Angels this week.

I was so saddened to hear of Maureen's passing. Maureen and I were in Sharon and Joe Wrzosek's wedding 26 years ago. It is difficult to understand why they were taken from us so early in life.

I just heard of Maureen’s death. We went to Nardin Academy together, from about age 5 and I have very fond memories of her – the tallest girl in class, always smiling and kind. How sad that she died so young, but how wonderful that she brought four children into the world.

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

Even though I knew there were days that were difficult to get through she didn't seem to miss a beat. She was always at Maura's events with a smile and positive attitude. I do not know where to begin in expressing my sympathy in the loss of Maureen. She was the first person I met at St Andrews, the first person to offer assistance in any capacity needed, the first person to share a smile or a hug or a word of praise to anyone that needed it, and I am sure the only one like her. We will miss her in a way that is indescribable, but I believe that we will feel her presence everyday! Her spirit is a part of everything St Andrews, and we were blessed to share as much time with her as we did.
