East Amherst, NY - Age 93, beloved husband of the late Beverley (nee Campbell) Wilson; devoted father of Jeffrey (Deborah), Kymberly (Steven) Pool, Carol (Jonathan) Clark, and Peter (Karen); loving grandfather of Brianna, Jonathan Jr. (Emily), Brandan (Elizabeth), Tyler (Emily), Adam, Kacey, Dillon, Nicolas and two great-grandchildren on the way; dear brother of Beverly (late Chester) Wagner; he will be sadly missed by his cat, Baby, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. The family will be present Wednesday from 3-7 pm at the (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8440 Main St., where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10 am. Interment to follow in Acacia Park Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Fenn College, a NYS Fire Inspector, former Chief and President of the Harris Hill Fire Department and retired from Moog Inc. He was also a past Commodore of the Tuscarora Yacht Club and a private Pilot with the Cornell Flying Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Education for Hope at https://www.2care2change.org/ or Clarence Presbyterian Church at 9675 Main St, Clarence, NY 14031. I have many fond childhood memories of Uncle Merle and family, summer vacations together going to air shows, the beach, Lake Ontario and swimming in their backyard pool. What fun we had.
I remember Uncle Merle's sense of humor and wit, his many hobbies, interests and skills.
Praying that he now is resting in peace with Aunt Bev My sincere sympathy to cousins Jeff, Kym, Carol, Pete and families.
