Of Amherst, NY, December 19, 2012, beloved husband of Ellen I. (Rommel) VanPatten; dearest father of Michael P. (Michele), Scott T. and Benjamin T. (Shanna) VanPatten; loving Granddad to Andrew, Carter, Tate and Allison VanPatten; son of the late Lester VanPatten; brother of Lester (late Alice), Dennis (Linda) and Timothy (Elaine) VanPatten; also his "other brother" Paul (Beverly) Brown; loving son-in-law of Audrey (late Thomas) Rommel; also survived by nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mary's Church, 6919 Transit Rd., Swormville on Saturday morning at 10. Mike, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, loved fishing, playing Euchre and sharing Manhattans with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Swormville Vol. Fire Co. Memorials to St. Mary's Building Fund or Hospice Buffalo Inc.
