Dad,
You were one of those hard working fathers that always got his way. Your words were the law in our house (or so you thought)! We used to fear you but we never thought you were already teaching us one of the most valuable lessons in life, standing up for what you believe in. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise... Your strong work ethic is now carried on by all of your children. As we all grew older, we slowly understood why you treated us like that. We all discovered that you really were a very compassionate and kind person underneath that tough outer coating... I learned that the most important thing that you had was us, your family. Though you may never have said it out loud I know that you were really proud of what all your children had become and what your grandchildren had the opportunities to become… We are all who we are now because we had a father like you. As most of you may know my father, he never showed his feelings. You would only see that look that told you that you did something great, and seeing him like that made you feel like you owned the world.
I remember when we were little you found the time to build ice skating rinks in our backyard on Parkside, boy were the winters cold and icy... You spent hours to finish those rinks! You always thought you had a solution to every problem and had your ways of making things simple. You never asked anybody for help but you were a very generous man, and you never wanted to be acknowledged for anything you did.
Dad you showed strength until the end and still had some enlightening words for us that last week in the hospital. Very touching to hear you tell Mom she was the love of your life, I will forever hold that memory dear in my heart.
I love you Dad...thanks for the lifetime of memories…
Kate

I remember your Peter from Jersey St. when I was a young girl and Pete and my dad were pals. I am Eddie Thomas' daughter....
I remember Mary and Sam...they lived across the street.
My dad passed a couple of years ago...I am sure you will miss Peter as much as I miss my dad. You are in my thoughts and prayers....
They have probably started a 4 piece band, up in heaven....they have a lot of company up there.

Dear Ann Marie,
We remember a Xmas Eve at your house on Parkside. Especially the grin on Pete's face & funny comments he uttered as everyone was opening their presents. He leaned over & whispered to Frank, he never realized that house had that much storage space. Pete had a quiet sense of humor & will be missed.
We extend our deepest sympathy To you & your entire family.
God Bless all of you

Dear Aunt Anna Marie, Katie, Michaeleene, John, Peter, Ann Marie, Brian and family,
I am so sorry about Uncle Pete's passing. He was such a great, funny, loveably-kooky, story filled, joke telling, sausage-making uncle. We hadn't seen each other in a long time, but I will miss him. I know he had a very good life, because he was always able to keep his wonderfully funny (& sometimes naughty) sense of humor - which truly was his essence.
I wish you all a sense of peace - knowing that he has gone to that great race track in the sky - awaiting your turn to join him and place your bet.
All our love,
Cheryl, Collin, Marina & Chris

To the Piccillo Family, We are so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I laugh when I think of some of the things he said to me and Ann Marie as teenagers, and my husband got such a kick out of him when we lived at Marine Drive. You are all in our prayers and thoughts.
