DEAR CASEY AND FAMILY,
I THINK BACK TO THE FIRST TIME I MET PETER, 21 YRS. AGO IN THE O.R. AT CHAFFEE HOSP., SPRINGVILLE. MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS ONE OF A MAN WHO EMBRACED KNOWLEDGE, PORTRAYED WISDOM, GENUINELY INQUISITVE AND HELD FRATERNITY TO THE HIGHEST ESTEEM. IN THE YEARS THAT FOLLOWED, HE NEVER CHANGED. HE WAS THE REAL DEAL. DOGMA AND CHARLATAN WERE NOT PART OF HIS VOCABULARY. HE WILL BE MISSED BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. CIAO AMICO.
DEEPEST SYMPATHIES, NICK & MARIA

We met Peter and Casey when they moved in near us in DC Ranch in 2001. We knew immediately that we had special neighbors and formed a brief but rich friendship. We will miss Peter's wisdom, kindness, and good humor. We will always cherish the memory of him bringing treats to our little dog who sat on our terrace and looked longingly toward his home. She knew, as did we, that Peter was a special friend.

Casey, we will never forget Peter, and we hope to be there for you as you navigate this difficult road ahead.

With love, Glenn and Andrea

Dear Natalie, Peter, Mary and Lucinda,

I was very saddened when my mom told me about your dad. He was a very special person to me and I always admired him and looked up to him. He was like a dad to me. Thank you all for sharing him. Your family is very special to me and my family; and, the values of friendship that we have shared can be accredited to our parents and their love for us.
I hadn't talked with your dad in many years, but that never stopped me from thinking of him and remembering all the fun times we had.
It is hard to lose such a pillar of strength and community in a family but knowing that he is at peace with your mom and living through your and your children's memories will help you to get through these tough times.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Love,
Maura

Dear Casey,
It was so kind and thoughtful to phone me about Peter's passing.
Pete and I haven't seen each other in many years, but I felt close to him through his numerous E mails, and mine, too.

I already miss his wit.

My sympathy goes out to the Ricci family. Dr. Ricci was a compassionate and conscientious physician. He was also a valuable member of the community. Whether he was working at the hospital or on the West Seneca school board, he always did the best things for the people he served. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
