Loving Husband of 53 years to the late Kathleen Riester (nee. Nieman). Devoted father of Peter J. (Lynette), David R. (Melanie) and Krista L. Riester. Loving brother of Paul (Pam) Riester, Michael Riester, & the late Susan Bogner. Brother-in-law of Thomas Bogner. Loving grandfather of Ashley, Alexis, Amber, & Alexander. Loving uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Peter was a life-member of the Buddy Knaus AMVETS Post #14 Auxiliary. A Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4-8pm at The Dietrich Funeral Homes, Inc., 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at 10am at St. Louis RC Church, 780 Main St., Buffalo, NY. Please assemble at church. Peter, David, Krista... I´m saddened by the loss of your father. I was fortunate to have spent many hours in his company (baseball league, hanging at your Ava lane home.). Your Dad was always kind, never made me feel unwelcome (which I know must have been). I recall your families computer, must have been the only one in the neighborhood. We´d play "Olympics" and your Dad always won....always calm and easy to be around... pretty good baseball coach I remember. I always thought highly of both your Mom and Dad.. I´m glad to have known them. God bless them.

I remember you both your dad and your mom when we fished in Quebec it was great times and I specially remember when we went blueberry picking and we found them on blueberry Hill lol I so wish I could be there with you for both your mom and your dad, but don´t worry they will always be in my heart. I miss them both dearly and wish we would´ve had some more time together before they both were gone and I´m sure if Ed was still here he would say the Same, condolences to you, Dave and you, Kathy and Peter. I love them both and miss them both.
