Peter STANEK Obituary
Of Orchard Park entered into rest November 22, 2022 after a courageous battle with chronic Leukemia. Beloved husband of Janis L. (nee Stuart) Stanek; devoted father of Travis (Cheryl) and Jarett (Erin) Stanek; cherished grandfather of Jacob, Nicholas, Shannon, Cody, and Sarah Stanek; loving son of the late Leo "Sam" and Ceceil Stanek; dear brother of the late Catherine (John) Wlodarczyk; also survived by family and friends. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel), 3060 Abbott Rd. near Lake Ave., on Tuesday (November 29) from 3-7 PM, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow. Peter was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of his favorite times were spent on his boat or at his hunting cabin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's honor to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Institute or to your local Volunteer Fire Company. Janis,
I'm so sorry to hear of Peters passing. My prayers are with you and your family.
I have great memories of spending time with Pete. I remember him picking me up on Saturday mornings to go trout fishing on the way to the land, and spending a few deer hunting seasons at the cabin with family and friends.
Peter was a good man, and a good friend to me.
May God bless you, Travis, Jarett, and the family.

Our deepest sympathies to you and the boys on Peter's passing. Though Peter was a thoughtful man who was at ease with a pipe and a fishing rod in his hands, Peter could also handle a shotgun or a bulldozer with equal dexterity. A quiet intelligence graced this man, with a lively sense of humor a cooked grin and a twinkle in his eyes. In the days and weeks ahead, you will hear and share stories of Peter and the love and laughter that he brought to you and all of your family and friends.The anecdotes will bring a tear to the eye and a rueful smile to your face.And in this way, Peter will be with you always, as long as you walk this earth. May the heavenly roads rise up to meet Peter and the celestial winds be always at his back.
