Of Buffalo, entered into rest December 3, 2023. Beloved husband of 57 years to Phyllis (nee Kolars) Probst; devoted father of Michael D. (Peggy nee Gonser) Probst of Yardley, PA, James F. (Cary nee Nyland) Probst of Charlotte, NC, and Paul J. (Heather nee Murray) Probst of Atlanta, GA; cherished grandfather of Catherine nee Probst (Timothy) Yu of Edison, NJ, Andrew (Jane nee Leverich) Probst of Denver, CO, Alec Probst of San Diego, CA, Olivia Probst of Charleston, SC, Amelia Probst of Charlotte, NC and Isabella and Anderson Probst of Atlanta, GA; loving son of the late Earl and Catherine Probst; dear brother of Richard Probst of Mound, MN, Joanne nee Probst (late Steve) Webber of Maplewood, MN, late Carol nee Probst Caughey and the late John Probst; also survived by many cousins and good friends. Phil was a graduate of Cretin High School and St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN. He was a longtime employee of International Multifoods and Dietrich Trucking. He was in the forefront of computing and loved his "spreadsheets." Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, travel, gardening, as well as picture and sudoku puzzles. Also a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, OP, member of Hillcrest Seniors and resident of Bethford. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Southtowns Chapel) 3060 Abbott Rd., near Lake Ave. on Friday (December 15) from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 3148 Abbott Rd., Orchard Park or livestreamed online at olshop.org on Saturday morning (December 16) at 10AM. Please assemble at Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philip's name to Hospice Foundation or Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.
