Beloved husband of JoAnne (nee Wagner) Nyitrai. Loving father of Jonathon (Laura) Nyitrai, Alyson (Paul) Zoratti and Robert (Patricia) Nyitrai. Cherished grandfather of Brody, Anderson, Owen, Reid, Stella, Roman, Greta and Elena. Dear brother of the late Steven and Jeffrey Nyitrai. Brother-in-law of Joan Nyitrai, Ann Nyitrai, Mary (Greg) Wedgwood and Theresa (Ken) Habberfield. Survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Bob was a teacher at the Starpoint Central School District for over 35 years and was a Past Union President. A Celebration of Life will be held at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 911 Englewood Ave. on Saturday, October 4th from 10 AM to 12 PM Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to The Teachers Desk (theteachersdesk.org). Please share condolences at mertzfh.com.

Bob and I worked together for 15 years while he was Grievance Chair and then President of the Starpoint Teachers Association. I know of no one else who was as down to earth, while taking his leadership responsibilities to his union brothers and sisters so seriously. He made a difference in so many lives, and he was my friend. I wish his family and friends my deepest condolences. He lived a truly great life and like many, I'm proud and fortunate to have known him.
