RUSSELL Katherine Obituary
June 24, 1943 - September 29, 2023
Susan K. Russell passed away on September 29, 2023 in her home in Buffalo, NY, at the age of 80. Born on June 24, 1943, the daughter of the late William E. Russell and Susan (nee Work) Russell. She grew up in Buffalo, NY and graduated from The Park School. After college, Susan traveled to Stowe, VT for a ski trip and shortly after made Stowe her home for the next 45 years. She received her Masters in Education from the University of Vermont and became an Elementary school teacher for 35 years in the Stowe, VT school district. Susan is survived by her brother, William H. Russell, and his wife Sally L. Russell. She was an aunt to her nieces Sheri L. Ashton (Dave Ashton) and Maggie Russell Barnett (KC Barnett), and a loving great aunt to Emily, Dylan, Charlotte, and Annie. Susan was a wonderful friend to a host of cherished individuals in both Buffalo, NY and Stowe, VT. Arrangements by the AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 4, 2023 at The Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club from 11 AM - 1 PM. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, contributions may be made in Susan's memory to the Michael W. Russell Fund at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, 726 Exchange Street, Suite 525, Buffalo, NY 14210. Susie and I overlapped living in New York for a while in the 60s during which we often met up. She was a good friend, warm, often funny and always interesting. I have always remembered her with affection. My condolences to her family.

To the Russell Family,
I'm so sorry to hear that Susie passed away. Even though we haven't seen each other in years, I remember her most fondly. She was always fun to be with and so fill of life. Please accept by most sincere condolences.
