HIGGINS - Thomas F., Jr. Former Sheriff of Erie County died June 26, 2018. Husband of the late Shirley (nee Cancilla) Higgins; dearest father of Timothy, Daniel (Julie) and Thomas "Fitz" (Kelly) Higgins; loving grandfather of Kevin, Maggie, Leah, Ben, Quinn, Emma, Fiona and Tommy Higgins; son of the late Thomas F. and Margaret (nee Power) Higgins; brother of the late Richard, Kevin, James and John, Mary Conboy, Patricia Dunn, Joan Archer and Kathleen McCarthy; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday and Friday 4-8 PM at the REDDINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 657 Abbot Rd. (corner Red Jacket Pkwy.), where a service will be held Saturday at 9 AM and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 9:30 AM. Friends are invited. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial tributes may be made to the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park. Sheriff Higgins was a former Buffalo Police officer and a Korean War veteran of the US Marine Corps.
