Thomas Holtham Obituary

Holtham Jr., Thomas William

September 7, 1937 - November 24, 2025

Thomas William Holtham Jr., 88, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Merritt Island, Florida. Born on September 7, 1937, Thomas was a graduate of McKinley High School in Buffalo. He began his working life at Decos and went on to build a long and dedicated career with General Motors in Tonawanda, retiring after 31 years of service. A proud veteran, Thomas served in the U.S. Army and participated in Operation Red Wing. His commitment to service extended beyond the military-he was a lifetime member and past Commander of the LT Nelson V. Ammerman Post 324 and a loyal member of Local UAW 774. He also gave generously of his time as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Thomas found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler and loved camping, pursuits that brought him lasting happiness throughout his life. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Vera A. Holtham, and a loving father to his late children, Sharon Lee Gorom and Thomas W. Holtham III, and his late brother Norman. He is survived by his son, Robert P. Holtham, and granddaughter, Sara Marie Holtham, and by his brothers, Richard and Steven, and his sisters, Harriett and Kathy. Thomas will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to family, community, and country. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
