To the Pilat family, I am so sorry for the passing of your son & brother Tom. I met Tom back in 1987 when he worked at McDonald's with my daughter. Tom was always a fun loving guy and so full of life.Then in later years I would see him in the neighborhood driving in the town truck. When he would see me, he would always pull over to say "hi" and ask how I was doing. He will definitely be missed May he rest in peace with our Lord.

A part of my soul is gone forever. Tom was an Angel in disguise.I have never met such a wonderful person in my life and never will again. He's probably the Ring Announcer for the WWE in Heaven. Tom was one of a kind, a gentle giant with a passion to help others. I had the pleasure to work with Tom at the PD. There was nothing he wouldn't do for anyone. A constant smile like none other. Tom will be surely missed by all of us.

I worked with Tom every day at the police station. I don't think I can remember a day when he did not make me laugh and smile. He was a dear friend. He helped my family on at least two occasions by saving a bunny and then a bird. Only Tom would drive over to your house to save a bunny. He was a very special guy and his family should be very proud. He loved his family so very much. He will be greatly missed by so many people. He did more in his 42 years than most do in a lifetime. I met Tom when he was in his twenties and have always loved and admired him. His ability to bring joy and love to so many. He was always positive and made each person feel special. As a young boy we would laugh as Tommy sat in his parents basement and "announced" WWF wrestling matches on his microphone. Little did we know he would parlay that talent into a successful career as DJ. Later as a teenager and early high school grad, Tommy worked with us at our animal clinic as a kennel and office call assistant. How amazing it was to see that be a first step toward a career as an Animal Control Officer for the Town of Tonawanda. He was a unique and special young man who accomplished so much in far too short a time.
