Vincent was a great guy and fun to be with--I was lucky enough to see him this Thanksgiving and even with his illness, he was positive and in good spirits wanting to get back to "racing". That's how I will always remember him--the man of action!! Our sympathies to his family in this time of sorrow. Randy and Bernice Meidenbauer

My Dearest Vincent:
I feel that now is the time for me to somehow put to words the heartache I feel since you left us all. It seems crazy, by somehow by leaving an entry in this book it feels like I can talk to you like you are still here. It has been very hard to find a way in the past few weeks to stop crying and longing for you to call or text me with a "HEY BUM, WHAT ARE YOU UP TO?" I want to get past the tears and the choked up feeling all the time, but it just is very hard to imagine my world without you in it.
We have had many years of time together. Some good and then some not so good. Normal huh? I don't think people really understood our relationship, but that was ok, we had a bond, a comradery, a friendship, a love, all unique and all ours.
This all was not what was in "the master plan", this shouldn't have happened! It's not fair....we talked for hours and said these things when you first found out you were sick. You were very scared, so was I. We cried for hours at a time, hugging and comforting each other when no one was around so that we could appear strong. We both knew it was serious and terminal, but somehow It never really seemed real.It never felt like you truly were going to die and be gone forever. It was just a bad dream we would all wake up from.
I never got to say goodbye to you before you left, and that is what is haunting me. The guilt for me getting ill at a time when I know you needed me, hurts. I feel like I let you down. You were more worried about me than yourself all the way to the end. I guess that was one of the things you did, because that was just you.
You took care of everyones problems, or at least tried to offer solutions and options. You were one of the most talented and knowledgeable people I have ever met. There wasn't anything you couldn't do or couldn't figure out. Then if you didn't know something, you didn't stop until you got the answers.
You were the glue that held "our group" together (we all know who we are...) 79 Lake Ave. was the club house where safety in numbers existed. A place for friends to help each other through tough times in confidence. A place to laugh, talk, dream, have a glass of wine, and make things happen. Even though you are gone, I promise I will try to keep the bonds of friendship with those people alive. I know that is what you would have wanted.
You were a loving, gentle and A kind man. Your family and friends cherished you. You had a smile so big and bright that it would light up the world and every person around you. You were respected by your peers and business associates. My children adored you. They will always remember you and the love you showed to us all for years.
VINCENT, YOU WERE ONE OF A KIND, IRREPLACEABLE FOR SURE!!
THE RACE CAR...how do I even approach this subject? Every time I see that trailer still in the driveway, it feels like you are still here. Like you maybe just pulled in from a long road trip. I will miss the team, the fun, the excitement we all had. It was the love of the sport and the longing to "make something happen" that was so cool. You were a talent just starting to reach your full potential. There was a gift to your style and techniques as a driver. You would have made it to the top. I know because you had the guts, the drive and the determination to do it. Not many people take a chance and reach for their dreams. You did. The team was great, the car was ready, now if we had only had a little more cash, watch out Vinny Arcadi was going to be at the top.
P.S. The pictures I did with the car (you made me do it! remember?) were cool and fun no matter what! All the talk? (surprized? ahh...nope!!)
The loss of your companionship is going to be devastating. I am not quite sure how or when I will ever recover from the loss of one of the most influential and important men in my life. I promise to live the rest of my life trying every day to be the woman you would be proud of. Strong and independent like you would have expected. When I feel like giving up or quitting because the times are getting tough, I am going to look up to the sky and ask you to help me.
I know you will, because that is what you do......
I MISS YOU AND THINK OF YOU EVERYDAY. I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER ......XXOO

Vincent is my little Uncle, the baby of the family,as we called him. My kid's Great Uncle, My Grandchildren's Great Great Uncle. How our family grew in such a short time! Vinny was 4 years younger than i am, but I can't sum up 50 years here.
We were raised by our parents as a very close family who cared about each other and it meant a lot to all of us growing up. But when it came to Vincent and I we were more than family, we were friends too. Thats the way we were raised. we grew up together and we did things growing up good and bad... (the stories that could be told!)
We fought like family and friends do too, but we did care about each other and we both knew that I loved you Vincent. Even when I wanted to bust your nose at times.
Vincent was a good uncle, a good friend, a good man (and friend) to most who knew him. I do need to say that one of the reasons I wrote this is in Memory of my mother, Vincent's sister Dolores Arcadi ( I miss you mom!!)We all as family and friends said goodbye to Vincent on Saturday January 6th 2007, my family and friends also said goodbye once again to Dolores Arcadi ( my mother) who passed away January 6th 2002. Mom, you now have your little brother back again.
As I say this with tears in my eyes and my hands shaking, you both will be missed greatly.
Love you mom, Love you Vinny...
Watch over all of us now, we need you to.

My condolences to Angelo and John. I grew up with Vinny knee high to a grasshopper. Vinny, my brother Leo, and Me(six steps behind them) walking down Lake Ave, stopping at his Dad's Como Lounge for a pop. I remember Vince driving me up and down his driveway in a car his dad bought him called a Little Indian. I think he was 8 or 9 - and there starts the Racing Career! We had great times on Lake ave and I always looked up to Vince when I was a kid and 30+ years later I looked down on him from the Lancaster Speedway Grandstands as he drove past me at 200 MPH!!-What a Ride & seeing Vince on ESPN was more than awesome! He will be missed by so many people from so many avenues because he succeeded at so many things respecting everyone along the way!

Angelo, John & Family, we are so very sorry for your loss.
I met vince just about 10 years ago. Started out by buying diecast from him and quickly became friends. I use to be at this house everyday helping pack boxes and take orders and lisa use to make us dinner every nite and on weekends we would go to the flea market and to Dizzys. We took a trip to philly in the little yellow bus he bought. He taught me everything about the business and soon sold it to me so he could go do his dream of racing the Nitro Funnycar. He was a big brother and a mentor and a friend to me. I took so much pleasure in seeing him race knowing that it was he dream to be doing it. He was truly one of the good guys in this world. We were blessed to know him and call him a friend and we are gonna miss him so so much.

Vincent, of all our years together, my favorite, and one that will stay with me always goes back to March 1978. The first time you met our son. The most amazing connection was made as you both looked into each others eyes. I cried, you cried. I will cry for awhile longer now, I know you are with the family again. I will see you there when its my time. Love you always, Cheryl.

I met Vincent four years ago and I quickly came to realize that I had become friends with a hard working, honest and sympathetic man. I went on to crew chief his funny car for him over the next four years. During that time we developed a special kind of bond and we never once had a cross word to say to one another. My wife (Sheri) and my father (Sam) grew very fond of Vincent, as I believe he did of them. Vincent and myself shared many special moments at the racetrack and away from the track. I am extremely privileged to have been apart of Vincent’s life and I mourn the loss of him along with the rest of his family and friends.
