Daniel Williams Obituary

WALKER – Dan Wiliams passed away in his sleep at his home on June 24, 2025 after a long struggle from illness.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at the Union Church in Quasqueton, Iowa. Burial will be held at the Walker Cemetery in Walker, Iowa.
Dan was born May 8, 1953 to Clarence and Dorris (Gericke) Williams on the Heritage Farm which he lived on and farmed his whole life. He attended the North Linn Community Schools, and graduated from high school in 1971. Dan married Debbie Dighton on March 11, 1972.
Dan was a lifelong farmer in the Walker area. He fed hogs until age 40, milked cows until age 50, fed cattle until age 60, and raised buffalo until age 70.
Dan was a talented musician and played in many bands starting with his sister at the age of 8. He taught guitar at Keeneys, Kirkwood, and Carma Lou's as well as some private lessons over the years.
He is survived by his wife Debbie of 53 years; three sons: Daryl (Lisa), Denton, and Doran (Michelle); seven grandchildren; a great grandchild; two sisters, Susan (Dave) Kroeker of Audubon, Iowa and Bonnie Burlingame of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Dave Dighton; and three brothers-in-law: Oral Beck, Duane Burlingame, and Monty Sackett.
