Fern Price Obituary
She was born on May 17, 1928, in Independence, the daughter of Grace W. (Morarie) and Howard Hines. On Oct. 15, 1942 she married Tom Price in Kohoka, Mo. Fern was the bookkeeper for the many businesses she and Tom owned, most recently the Gayla Ballroom, Price Truck Sales & Service, and Price Feed & Grain.
She is survived by two daughters Diana Price, Independence, and Patricia (Harold) Gosse, Rochelle, Ill.; one son Thomas "Buck" (Cheryl) Price, Rowley; Eleven Grandchildren, Twenty One Great Grandchildren, and Twenty Two Great Great Grandchildren. A sister, Cathrine Smith, and a special friend, Linda Hummel.
Fern is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Howard Hines; her husband, Tom; two sons, William and James; one daughter, Nancy Yearous; two grandsons, Timothy Gosse and Thomas Price.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence with Rev. Dawn Peterson officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence.

I just wish to send me deepest sympathy for your mother. She was and still is wonderful lady. I am sad to say I only know her and your dad Tom from my days back in 1974 and 1975 when I washed dishes for them at the gayla ballroom. I am happy
though to have seen them one more time for lunch in 1985.
Again my sympathy for the pain you feel bit know there are others out here who have not seen them in years still hold happy
memories of them.
