Kevin Rosauer Obituary

ROWLEY – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing Kevin W. Rosauer, 64, a proud Marine veteran, who passed away peacefully at his home in Rowley, Iowa on Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6 at the American Legion in Quasqueton, Iowa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with military honors at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Kevin's life and legacy.
Kevin Rosauer was born on October 25, 1960 in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Richard and Carol (Gerber) Rosauer. From an early age, Kevin embodied determination and a strong sense of duty. In 1979, he graduated from Urbana High School early and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served honorably for 10 years and 11 months, 3 years at Camp David and at the White House with the remainder as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician-a role that required exceptional courage, precision, and discipline. In 1990, Kevin retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant, earning the respect of his fellow Marines and the lasting gratitude of his country that he was proud to serve.
After his military service, Kevin continued to live a life rooted in strength, loyalty, and quiet generosity. He was involved with the American Legion and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend who could always be counted on for support and wisdom and understanding and a man of impeccable integrity.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Carol (Gerber) Diamond; his sons: Dennis (Cherrie) Spurlin of Tipton, Iowa, Keven (Aimee) Spurlin of Bakersville, N.C., and Thomas (Alisha) Rosauer of Independence, Iowa; his siblings: Michael Rosauer, Alen Rosauer, Sandy Jackson, Tim Rosauer, Kelly Rosauer and Pam Carlson; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rosauer; his wife, Debrah Rosauer; and brother, Todd Rosauer.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion in Kevin's honor.
