Norma Kay Norman, 94, of Winthrop, Iowa, died Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Independence Rehab Center in Independence, Iowa.
Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Church of Christ United in Winthrop, Iowa.
Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Church of Christ United in Winthrop, Iowa, with Reverend Vicki Engelman officiating.
Inurnment: Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name for a scholarship to be established later.

www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.comKay was born on February 19, 1931, in Winthrop the daughter of Oliver and Thema Brown. Kay attended Winthrop public school graduating with the class of 1949. On March 26, 1949, she was united into marriage to L.N. Norman in Winthrop. They made their home in Winthrop where they had two children, Larry Norman and Brenda Nabholz.
Later in life Kay decided to continue her education to become a hairdresser. She opened her own shop in her home where she continued to work for 49 years until she retired. She loved her job, and her shop was a hub of goings ons in Winthrop.
Kay was very well known in Winthrop. She was very active in the United Church of Christ. She also was very active with the C&C club for many years. She volunteered for many hours in her community. She truly enjoyed working at the concession stand during the summer at the park. Many of you know one thing Kay was famous for was her funnel cakes. Kay was a huge advocate for the Kids Corner day care volunteering for many hours there.
Kay loved to travel but no matter how far or where she went, she was always glad to be back in her hometown of Winthrop, Iowa. Kay loved her community and would always support anything that would make the town a better place. She was born and raised in Winthrop and raised her children in Winthrop as well.
Kay is survived by her son Larry (Liz) of Jupiter Florida; 4 grandchildren: Maggie Norman of Indiana, Betsy Norman of Chicago, Illinois, Travis (Jamie) Taylor of Winthrop, Iowa and Tiffany Nabholz (Jordan) of Walford, Iowa; 6 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and Jennie Timm.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband L.N. Norman, her parents Oliver and Thema Brown, Her sister Carol Zimmer, and her daughter Brenda Nabholz and son-in-law Steve Nabholz.
