Sheryl Versluis Obituary

INDEPENDENCE – Sheryl Ann Versluis, 62, of Independence, Iowa died Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Unity Point – St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Private memorial services will be held later with Inurnment in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory of Independence is assisting the family with arrangements.
Sheryl was born on February 8, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Robert H. and Carolyn M. (Spece) Versluis. She was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson High School in Independence. While in school Sheryl served an internship with the Smith D & L Insurance Agency and following her graduation, she remained employed with them until she became disabled.
Sheryl enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, puzzles, reading and playing cards. But her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by four cousins: Candice Peyton and her son Dustin Shonka, Independence; Lee Claypool and daughter Rachael, Rowley, Iowa.; Bernard Johnson Jr, Independence; and Travis Spece, Bonaparte, Iowa.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
