Christine Cannon Obituary
Winooski - Christine Birks Cannon of Winooski, Vt died unexpectedly July 11, 2018. She was born on January 12, 1985. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Grade School, Rice Memorial High School and LeMoyne College.
After choosing to pursue a career in nursing, she commuted daily to Castleton State College to earn her degree. She was employed at University of Vermont Medical Center as a psychiatric nurse, a position she loved dearly.
Christine always had an aura about her that something was about to happen, be it angelic and generous or mischievous and tricky. She was a militant vegan, passionate about humane treatment of all animals. She was very proud of rescuing a stray kitten (Mr. Kitty) and saving it from certain death.
Christine is survived by her loving parents John and Karol (Birks) Cannon, sister Colleen (Tony DeLorenzo), many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents, uncle Brian Cannon, and cousin Lizzie Stearns.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Winooski at 11:00 AM in July 21, 2018, followed by interment at St. Stephen's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society Of Chittenden County. Arrangements are under the care of LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

My son Derek loved Christine so much. I would like to have had more time to really get to know her. She was beautiful, creative, passionate and smart. May our Lord bring her to her heavenly home. Please know you are all in my prayers.

Christine and I trained together for our jobs at UVMMC. Hilarious and earnest, I admired her and had a HUGE friend crush on her! It was always such a joy to pop in and say hi when I was coming on for night shift and she was just about to finish up. A magical and fierce lady. My heart aches for her passing. I am turning that hurt into joy and love to send to you Christine for your safe passage! Go go go with grace. We love you and send you off into the wild blue! Bon voyage mon amie. Christine and I were new found friends in the last 2 years.
She and I enjoyed several "chats" and I always looked forward to talking to her.

The spirit of Christine Cannon in a single word? Fearless.
Her heart came with just one setting, white hot. What unbridled joy to bask in the glow of her light. A dapple of it could change your life forever. Sunburns were common, the blame solely yours.
She loved all creatures great and small, millipedes excepted. Her compassion knew no earthly bounds. Take a piece of time from your life to honor her memory with a small kindness to an animal that you might otherwise have not. Be courageous in the face of injustice and growl a little, she always did.
Be the Artist of your life, and don't look back.

I am so sorry for your loss. While Christine and I hadn't spoke in a long time, she was a great friend growing up. Christine Cannon was a beautiful soul. She was smart, caring and truly an exceptional person. I hadent seen or spoken to christine in many year but there are certain things that are built into the core of an individual that will never change. I was blessed to have known you and may you rest in peace. To the family of Christine I'm am truly sorry for your loss.
