Eva Suler Obituary
Age: 56 • Colchester
Colchester-Eva Suler, 56, died on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at UVM Medical Center, Burlington.
She was born on March 28, 1958 in Jamaica Estates, Queens N.Y., the daughter of Orrell I. and Anne (Ratkevich) Shields. She was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2014. However, she had a zest for life, setting and accomplishing goals and refused to give up. She had two good years and accomplished all that she strove for. She graduated from St. John's University in New York City with a Master's Degree in art. She earned a full scholarship for running track, competed worldwide and earned many awards for her school.
She is survived by her husband, Karel; two sons: Stephan and Johnny; a sister, Ann Gill; a brother, O. Gary Shields; a niece, Lisa Rose; a nephew, David Gill; five great nieces and nephews: Brady, Derek and Kaili Rose and Emily and Chloe Gill and lifelong best friend, June Donofrio.
Eva is especially remembered for her sweetness and for her strength. We pray that she is now at peace and knows that she is missed and loved greatly.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 1p.m. in Malletts Bay Cemetery, West Lake Shore Dr., Colchester, with Fr. Andreas Papayiannis of The Dormition Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Elmwood-Meunier in charge.

She'd make me and the children meals to eat on the train on the way home from her place to ours

Eva was so kind to myself and my children and used to pack food for us to eat on our way home from her place. I have happy memories of visit to her Hause and her love for US.
