HILDA ROACH

HILDA (FRITSCHE) ROACH BURLINGTON - Hilda A. Roach, 85, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 in Birchwood Terrace Health Care. She was born in Loeball, TX on Sept. 21, 1925, the daughter of William Sr. and Maria (Mitschke) Fritsche. She met and married her husband, Frederick Roach Jr., in Texas while he was stationed there, and they later moved to this area. She was a housewife and mom and managed the Petco gas stations on Riverside Ave. and Shelburne Rd. She later operated a day care center in her home for over 20 years. Mrs. Roach was a member of the South Burlington Community Lutheran Church on Williston Rd. She leaves six daughters and spouses, Freddie Jean and Donald Cross, Patricia and Dwayne Densmore, Brenda Hemingway, Judy and Roger Lavarnway, Debra Tuttle, and Cyndi and Steve Dumont; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gertrude Mills, Beatrice Windsor, Doris May Carnes, and William Fritsche Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; her daughter, Diana Roach; and her other siblings, Charles, Alvin, Herman, and Alton Fritsche, and Clara Belle Endsley, and Ella Moore. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Ave., with Rev. Jeff Jensen officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the services.
