Age: 86 • Burlington
Marie Theresa (Plankey) Begnoche, 86, passed away on Sun., June 26, 2016 at The Vermont Respite House in Williston, surrounded by the love of her family. Marie was born on January 17, 1930 in Burlington, to Francis and Leona (Beauchemin) Plankey. Marie grew up in Burlington and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1949. Marie was a daycare provider. She especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, thus creating a very special bond between them. In 1950, Marie married Romeo Begnoche in Burlington. After 55 years of marriage, Romeo passed away in 2005. She was a member of St. Mark's Parish and enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, knitting, playing cards, bingo, cooking and watching her game shows.
Marie is survived by her children: Linda Dusablon, Nancy (Thomas) Pratt, Aggie Schumacher and David (Stephanie) Begnoche. Her grandchildren: Chad Palmer, Alan (Nikki) Laroche, Jodi Palmer, Jason (Kim) Laroche, Travis (Lindsay) Pratt, Luke (Alesha) Laroche, Ty (Dannelle) Pratt, Eric (Tasha) Beane, Ashley Schumacher, Samantha, Jacob (Stephanie), Jeremy and Jared Begnoche. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren: her sisters: Virginia Peck, Agnes (Carl) Ross, Judy White and many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. Along with her husband, Romeo, Marie was predeceased by her parents: Francis and Leona, a daughter, Janice Palmer and brothers: Francis Jr., George, Raymond and Louis Plankey.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave. from 8:15-9:15 am on Wednesday, June 29. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mark's Parish on No. Ave. at 10a.m. Buriel will follow in Resurrection Park in So. Burlington. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to The Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Ln., Williston, VT, 05495. Marie's children would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Pillsbury Manor, North and The Vermont Respite House for the loving care and support they gave to our Mom.

To the Marie Begnoche Family... We are very sorry for your loss. Marie was a good neighbor. We were especially thankful for the care she gave our children and grandchildren. Whenever we came back to Vermont we tried to pay her a visit - and also to find out what was going on in Burlington and Tracy Drive.
We know she is in a better place (with Romeo and Janice) and at peace. Our love and prayers are with the family.
