Robert Ozman Obituary
Williston - Robert E. Ozman, Sr., of Williston, VT passed away at the UVM Medical Center on Sunday, March 18, 2018.
Robert was born on June 2, 1923 in Baltimore, MD to Thomas and Emma (Hoffman) Ozman. He graduated from Catonsville High School in 1940. Robert was a proud veteran of WWII, 1943-1947, serving aboard the USS Glennon. He worked in transportation management for 40 years retiring in 1982 from Grand Trunk Railroad and making homes in MA, VT, NY, CT, WI, and MI. They enjoyed many retirement winters in FL. He was a member of Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, Inc. serving as National President from 1972 - 1973.
Robert was married to Anne E. (Flashner) Ozman for 70 years until her passing in 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
As a faithful and active member of the Lutheran Church MLS he served in many capacities in his various local church homes. His faith was very important to him.
Robert enjoyed playing golf, bowling, walking, reading, and crossword puzzles. He was an exceptional cribbage player. Robert particularly enjoyed family get-togethers. He was a real people person and a great listener who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert is survived by three children; Joanne Seguin (Maurice) of South Burlington, VT, Jeanne Raschke (Leonard) of Lakeland, FL, and Robert Ozman, Jr. (Kamilla) of E. Moriches, NY, as well as 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-greatgrandchildren and sister-in-law Yvonne Gatzke.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, step-parents Edward and Martha Gatzke, brothers Edmund Ozman and Carl Gatzke.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 2 pm at the Community Lutheran Church, 1560 Williston Road, South Burlington, VT.
