Colchester - Scott Jesse Meade passed away on January 1, 2019 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT following a long battle with cancer. Scott Jesse Meade was born May 15, 1960 in Bennington, Vermont to Thomas and Shirley (Johnson) Meade. He was raised in Dover attending Dover Elementary School. He was a 1978 graduate of Wilmington High School. Scott was an outstanding athlete. He was a star soccer player and a member of the 1977 Wilmington High School Boy's Class M State Championship soccer team. Scott excelled as a ski racer and was a member of the Mount Snow racing team. Scott spent time in Colorado where he continued to race and coach and was a member of the US Ski Team in the mid-1990's. While in Colorado, Scott met and married Katie Langell on February 14, 2002. Scott and Katie moved back to Vermont residing in West Dover and then in Shelburne for the last 7 years. He was a board member for his Shelburnewood community for many years. Scott also created the design for the Shelburnewood MH Co-op sign.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Shirley, son Zachary and nephew Bryan Hampshire. He is survived by his wife Katie, son Alex and daughter Leah. He is also survived by his sisters Tallu Meade of Wardsboro and Nancy Meade of Kalamazoo, Michigan, brother Jim Amodio of Syracuse, New York, nephews Jesse Hampshire and David Haight, nieces Katelyn Vervynckt and Kylie Gordon.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held in Dover in the summer of 2019.
