Knox Cutlon Graham, 80, passed away on October 22, 2022.
A good old-fashioned BBQ will be held on November 12, 2022 in Burnet, Texas to celebrate Knox's life. Contact the family for more information.
Knox was born on February 3, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to John T. and Dorothy Lou Graham. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Knox attended the University of Houston and graduated in 1968 with a BA degree in English.
He married his beautiful wife Karen in 1969 and together they raised 3 children.
Throughout his life he volunteered and was involved with numerous organizations including the USS Lexington, CC Classic Chevy Club, CC Metal Detecting Club, KEDT-PBS, Highland Lakes Metal Detecting Club, Vet Rides, Fort Crogan, and various others. He loved cooking and photography. Knox could be found tinkering in the garage on various projects from building bird houses with Karen to restoring his 1957 Chevy. Knox was always busy doing something...or nothing at all (watching westerns or football). Knox loved music and playing the guitar, banjo, piano, and would master any instrument he could get his hands on. He was in a band called "The Stardusters" while in High School.
Most times Knox was a quiet observer, always listening and absorbing information. In response, his quick wit and candor made everyone turn their heads to listen or laugh (or both). As a father, he was always right. From opinions he had of his daughter's boyfriends, or what you should do about that sound coming from under the clutch, he was right. He never pushed one way or another, but it always came around to what he said in the first place.
He fiercely loved his family and friends. His number one love was Karen. They spent 54 years married, and no one could hold a candle to her. They are the picture-perfect couple. Together forever.
Knox won this game we call life. He lived into old age, had a beautiful marriage, kids, grandkids, dogs and a lovely home. Our hearts ache to say goodbye to our family's patriarch, but until next time.. we love you eternally.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Graham.
Knox is survived by his wife Karen; son, James Graham and wife Elva of McAllen; daughters, Mary Lewis of Round Rock and Laura Hunter and her husband Dr. Tim Hunter of Fairbanks, Alaska. Grandchildren, Mason Lewis, Knox Lewis, Ramona Graham, Jack Hunter, and Brett Hunter; brother, John Thomas Graham and his wife Rose of Houston, Texas.
His family requests that in his memory, donations be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
