Ramona Quintero Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ramona Pesina Quintero, age 83, announces her peaceful passing on September 24, 2025, at her daughter's home in Burnet, Texas.
Ramona was born on February 29,1942, in Kendelia, Texas to Calletano and Paulina Pesina.
In her younger years, Ramona worked as a cotton picker and was remembered as one of the best, according to many family stories. She later became a skilled cook, sharing her talents at well-known restaurants such as La Vista and the Ranch House throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In the years that followed, she dedicated much of her time to visiting the homebound and serving as a caregiver to numerous family members and friends. Fierce and strong-willed, Ramona was a woman not to be trifled with, and she earned the respect of all who knew her.
In her later years, Ramona turned her life over to Christ and found great peace and comfort in her faith. Her trust in the Lord sustained her, and her family takes solace in knowing she now rests safely in His arms.
Ramona's family will always remember her love of bingo, trips to the casino, and, most of all, the countless joyful hours she spent surrounded by family and friends. Her unwavering spirit, strength, and love touched everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calletano and Paulina Pesina; brothers Domingo Pesina, Jesus Pesina, Calletano Pesina, and Esteban Pesina; sister Maria Zambrano; her late husband Rudy Quintero; her longtime companion Esteban Hernandez; and her son Manuel Quintero.
She is survived by her children Paula Quintero, Domingo "Mingo" Quintero, Rudolph "Beetle" Quintero, and Jessie Pesina. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Alexis Quintero, whom she lovingly raised. In addition, Ramona leaves behind Tonya Quintero and Fred Solis, her former daughter-in-law and son-in-law, who remained beloved members of the family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramona's legacy continues through her large and loving family, including 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to hospice and to Jose "Chico" Zamora, Nancy Flores, and Carmen Martinez for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
On Monday, September 29, 2025 a visitation will be held from 9:00am-10:am, with the funeral service to start at 10:00am at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet for Ramona. Burial will be at Post Mountain Cemetery immediately after the service.
