Betty Jane Zongker

BETTY JANE ZONGKER Betty Jane (Brumback) Zongker was born on September 2, 1940, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. She was the daughter of Rutha Anna (Bailey) and Charles Benjamin Brumback. Betty graduated from El Dorado High School in 1958. Betty and Jerry Zongker were married at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado on September 4, 1959. She enjoyed camping, fishing, baking, working with figures, and being with her family. Betty had worked at Walnut Valley Bank, Rosehill State Bank, and LaForges and retired from El Dorado Clinic. Betty and Jerry did volunteer work for 6 years at Fall River Lake for the Corps of Engineers. She peacefully passed away at her home on October 2, 2024. She leaves behind a son, Eddie L. Zongker of El Dorado; daughters, Debbie (Howard) Unruh of Howard and Judy Zongker of El Dorado; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; two brothers, Oscar B. Brumback and Charles Edward Brumback; sister, Barbara Jean Miller and her husband, Harold; and nephews, Edward Brumback and Roger Allen Brumback. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Carlson Colonial Chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
