KATHI DEHOFF Obituary

KATHI LYN DEHOFF Kathi Lyn DeHoff was born on 09/19/1953 to Freddie Jr. and Martha Kathryn DeHoff (Armbruster). Kathi was reared in LaCygne, Kansas alongside her two older brothers, Fred and Dale. Kathi was part of the first graduating class from Prairie View High School in 1971. After leaving home, Kathi attended Kansas State University and majored in Art Education. While there, she met her lifelong partner, and forever soulmate, Manuel Munoz. The two were married on August 7th, 1976, in El Dorado, Kansas where they would make their permanent home and life together. Kathi was the first elementary art teacher in El Dorado. She had a passion for all types of mediums, especially painting with watercolors. After having her first born, she committed herself to being a homemaker and raising four boys (five when you include her husband!). She enjoyed taking her boys to beaches and swim meets with a cooler of "super swimmer sandwiches". She was always found laughing and giggling with Manuel. Wherever they were, laughter and smiles followed. In the years to come, her family grew, including multiple grandchildren, who knew her as "Nana". Most would agree that she had an undeniable amount of pride and loved her family dearly. Nothing gave her more joy! Despite a multitude of health issues beginning in her mid-40s, including a battle with leukemia, Kathi never stopped smiling. Those who knew her always marveled at her joy-filled ability to walk steadfast through all of life's circumstances with Manuel at her side. On February 7th, 2024, the miracle of Kathi's story ended with several members of her family walking her home to the glory of God. Kathi is being held by her Heavenly Father. Her race has been run, and she no longer has to smile despite the struggle; she simply gets to smile. Awaiting her in Heaven are her parents and brother Dale. Remaining to tell her story are her husband Manuel Munoz; sons Manolito (Abby) Munoz, Marco (Heather Wright) Munoz, Joshua (Jessica Rieger) Munoz, Marcelino (Sara) Munoz; grandchildren Molly and Macy Munoz, Averi Wright, Skyler Munoz, Jaydon Shaw and Abigail Merida. Memorials may be directed to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Carlson Colonial Chapel on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in the Benton Cemetery.
