Bruce Edward McCandless
Bruce Edward McCandless, 65, of Weikel Street, Philadelphia, passed away Sept. 24 at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center.
Bruce was born on Sept. 20, 1949, in Butler and was the son of the late Dr. Harvey Allen McCandless Jr., DDS, and the late Gladys Lucille McCleary McCandless.
He is survived by his daughter, Hope McCandless Wolabaugh of Butler.
Bruce attended school in Butler before joining the U.S. Army on Sept. 20, 1966. He served his country in Germany and in Vietnam.
McCandless- Graveside services with military honors for Bruce Edward McCandless, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, were Sept. 30 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

I also went to school with Bruce. He was in Miss Frye's fifth grade class at Center Avenue Elementary School with me. Condolences to his family and friends.

I remember Bruce from school. It is interesting to see his photo from those bygone but memorable days. May he rest in peace and be remembered for his service to our country.

My sincere sympathy to the family. I knew Bruce when I was young. He would walk over to a local horse stable to visit with me and my horse. I have wonderful memories of him.

Bruce was a classmate of mine from Butler High School. I fondly remember him helping me in Geometry class. My sympathies to his family and friends.

I'm sorry for your loss. I grew up with Bruce in Oakvale Blvd. We had a lot of fun growing up. I lost touch him after I saw him at Ft Benning where I was stationed. I will remember him fondly.
