Carl Yankowski Obituary
He was born July 22, 1948, in Butler, and was the son of the late Mitchel and Helen Yankowski.
Carl graduated from Butler High School in 1966. He graduated from MIT in 1970, with degrees in electrical engineering and management.
Over his 33-year career, Carl worked for many well-known companies, including Procter & Gamble, Memorex, PepsiCo, General Electric, Cadbury Schweppes, Polaroid, Sony, Reebok, and Palm Inc. While at Memorex, he was part of the development of the successful "Is It Live or Is It Memorex" campaign. While at PepsiCo, he worked on the "Pepsi Challenge" marketing campaign. While at General Electric, he helped develop the "Spacemaker" line of products and the "We Bring Good Things to Life" campaign.
The Butler High School Class of 1999 recognized Carl as a Distinguished Graduate.
Carl enjoyed aviation, classic automobiles and electronics.
Carl was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
YANKOWSKI - Friends of Carl J. Yankowski, who died Saturday, May 13, 2023, will be received from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Carl was an incredible mentor who gave me time and shared his experience and wisdom over the years. There were even times when he asked me for my perspective. Our conversations were always intellectually challenging and thoughtful. One day a friend who'd worked several layers below Carl in a corporate setting asked me how we met. I met Carl because I attended an event where he was the featured speaker. Staying afterwards we started to chat and I never let go. Sharing that conversation with Carl, a twinkle came to his eye, he smiled, gave me a quick laugh, and said "That's pretty much it." I hope that we'll meet again in another world Carl. Sending much love on your new journey. I know you'll challenge everyone's way of thinking there too.
