Charles Mick Obituary

Charles Marion Mick, 94, of Prospect died suddenly and peacefully Wednesday while on his way with his family to take possession of their new home in Columbia, Tenn.
Born July 17, 1923, in Lost Creek, W.Va., he was the son of the late Okey and Evelina Heater Mick.
Charles was a World War II and Korean War veteran and served proudly in the U.S. Navy, enlisting in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1957.
He was a life member of VFW Post 6231, Slippery Rock and the American Legion.
Charles was the electric department superintendent for Zelienople Borough from 1958 until 1986.
He was a 1941 graduate of Sand Fork, W.Va., High School and earned his AA degree in computer programming at Butler County Community College in 1992.
Charles was a lifelong and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a champion of the Gospel.
He loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking cruises with his family. Above all, Charles loved the family that he and his wife created together. He will be dearly missed and remembered with great love.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 67 years, Kathleen M. Collins Mick; his children, Marian Peterson of Portersville, Stevie (Jo Ann) Mick of Albion, Ind., Delores (Dan) Bailey of Salem, W.Va., Charles Wayne (Kathy) Mick of Negley, Ohio, and Kevin (Kristi) Mick of Columbia, Tenn.; his son-in-law, John Pallack of Harmony; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one not yet born; and his brother, Ellis Hayward Mick.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Pallack; his son-in-law, Mike Peterson; and his sisters, Vala Knauff and Rebecca Sayti.
MICK - A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charles Marion Mick, who died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Church of Harmony with Pastors Peter J. Everett and Reid Moon officiating.
Charles loved family and loved taking his family out for dinner. In lieu of flowers, please honor his memory by taking your own family out for dinner.
Arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

My deepest condolences and love to Kathleen, my dear friend, and to all the Mick Family. Charles was so loved and will be greatly missed. I can just imagine the reunion in Heaven...Charlie is with Jesus and singing with all those in both our families who have gone before...Our comfort is knowing we will all be together again in Heaven. My prayers are with you all.
