David Grubbs Obituary

David H. Grubbs, 69, of Forward Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born May 29, 1956, in Sewickley, he was the son of the late A.H. Grubbs and Ruth Lindsay Grubbs.
If you knew Dave, you knew he cherished life's simple things: a good meal, riding his tractor to cut the grass, cheering on the Steelers, listening to classic rock and never missing an episode of "Gunsmoke" or a NASCAR race. He had a lifelong love for anything with an engine - whether it was a backhoe he operated, a motorcycle on the open road, a dirt bike in the woods or a Mustang that could really move. Wherever he went, Dave made friends easily and his hearty laugh and genuine smile showed when he was truly happy.
Above all, Dave was devoted to his family. He was a proud husband, a loving dad, big brother and a "Pap" who treasured every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia Kohler Grubbs, whom he married Dec. 28, 1974; his sons, David M. Grubbs (Erin Leasher-Grubbs) and Patrick W. Grubbs (Sarah); his 10 grandchildren, Joredan (Giorgio), Brady (Ariel), Cameron (Paige), Graeson, Tristan, Parker, Emersyn, Emily, Toby and Charlotte; and 11 great-grandchildren, Zander, Hazelynn, Nevaeh, Wrenleigh, Adalynn, Kinley, Lennox, Harper, Gunnar, Layla and Maverick.
He is also survived by his brothers, Stan Grubbs (Lisa Reynolds-Grubbs) and Donald Grubbs; his sister, Virginia "Ginny" Monk (Rory); his mother-in-law, Patricia "Jean" Kohler; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Harvey Kohler (Peggy), Carolyn Huttinger (Mike), Rhoda Kohler and Michelle Kohler; and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory with love.
He was welcomed into heaven by his Savior, Jesus Christ, along with his parents; his sister, Elva Dixon; his father-in-law, Raymond Kohler; and his brother-in-law, Frank Kohler.
Those who knew Dave will remember the sound of his laugh, the warmth of his smile, and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Grubbs, who died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren Street, Evans City, PA 16033, with the Rev. Brandon Johns officiating.
