Debbie Leavy Obituary

Debbie Barger Jordan Leavy, 68, didn't get to ring the cancer bell, but she rang the bell to heaven Saturday, May 24, 2025. She passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Butler on March 31, 1957, and was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Shirley A. McElhattan Barger.
Debbie was a 1975 graduate of the Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School. She was the owner-operator of Rainbow Christian Preschool in West Freedom for many years.
She had a passion for reading and writing. Attending Trinity Point Church of God in Clarion brought her great joy. She loved shopping and had a unique hobby of collecting Amazon boxes. Hosting parties, watching Hallmark movies and rearranging furniture also were among her favorite activities. In addition, she became a snowbird, spending her winters in Florida. Traveling was another one of her passions, with Hawaii, Alaska, St. Martin and Disney World being among her favorite destinations. She loved spending time with her girls and cherished becoming a grandmother. Debbie had a beautiful smile that could light up any room.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Leavy, whom she married Oct. 14, 2022; two daughters, Kelly (Doug) Barrett and Courtney Andryka; her grandchildren, Carter, Jordyn, Jackson, Kendall and Cole; a sister, Pam (Butch) Gruver; a brother, Don (Alesia) Barger; and her nieces and nephews, with whom she had a special bond.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Jordan; and son-in-law, Aaron Andryka.
LEAVY - Friends and family of Debbie Barger Jordan Leavy, who died Saturday, May 24, 2025, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Wayne St., Parker.
Friends and family also will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Point Church of God, 180 West Trinity Drive, Clarion. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church, with Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to Trinity Point Church of God in Clarion or to VNA of Venango County Hospice.

Dick , Deanna and I are so sorry for your loss. You and her family surely have our condolences. Deanna had talked with Debbie when she was at Clarview for awhile and she said thar you really took good care and showed how much you loved her. We both prayed every day for God to heal her but was not His plans for her. Cancer is sure a dreaded disease and so many are taken home by it. We are sure she is in Heaven and that you really miss her. Again you and all have our deepest sympathy. May God bless.
