Donna Gregory Obituary

Donna Lee Gregory, 76, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2021, at her residence.
Born Jan. 5, 1945, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bruno Jr. and Julia Torosi Bruno.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
She retired in 2007 from Butler Memorial Hospital as a medical records clerk with 26 years of service.
She loved to bowl, play cards, and go out to eat, but most importantly, she loved her family. Her family called her "The Butler Eagle" because she knew it all. And if she didn't like it, she told you without fear of how or what you would say back. She was a very open and honest person, whose love was so strong it could knock you over.
She was a reliable, strong and independent, beautiful woman, who had to pull herself together after losing her husband, Michael Gregory suddenly in 1993 to a heart attack.
She was the definition (and more) of a matriarch of the family. She took care of every single one of her family members at one time or another out of complete selflessness and never asked for a single thing in return. Her laugh carried miles, and would immediately make you smile. Her hugs always lasted a few seconds longer, just so you knew she meant it.
She was a caring, giving, best back scratcher this side of the Mississippi, amazing light in this world that is now a bit dimmer, and it is a quieter and sadder place without her.
She is survived by two daughters, Anissa McDeavitt and her husband, Tim, of Ellwood City, and Kelly Weber and her husband, Jason, of Houston, Texas; one son, Scott Gregory and his wife, Kristen Shipton, of Slippery Rock; seven grandchildren, Rachel (Jesse) Caulk, Emily (Michael) Winovich, Tim (Vani) McDeavitt, Shawn Coulter, Maggie McGinnis, Kane Weber and Kyle Weber; and four great-grandchildren, Alexus, Parker, Vada and Kollyns.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Michael P. Gregory, who passed away June 19, 1993; one brother-in-law, Anthony Gregory; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
GREGORY - Friends of Donna Lee Gregory, who died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
A blessing service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Waruszewski officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations to Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Avenue, Lyndora, PA 16045.
