Douglas Frosch Obituary
Born in Toledo, Ohio on Aug. 10, 1953, he was the son of the late Herbert and Charlotte Schaub Frosch. Doug had one sibling, Shari Gorski (Jim).
A heart-felt appreciation to Doug's best friend, Larry Monday, who stood by his side through good times and bad and for helping Shari through this difficult time. Also special recognition for all the staff at Union Presbyterian Medical Center and trauma staff who did everything in their power to try and save Doug's life and also officer Ambrose, who was at the scene.
Doug was a self-employed consultant specializing in nuclear power, medicine and quality control of many different products. He attended Old Union Presbyterian Church in Mars.
Doug was superior on the bowling lanes and had a total of 18 perfect 300 games and two 800 series and his highest average was 233. Doug also competed on the Professional Bowlers tour and won several city and National All Event Awards. He was inducted into the Toledo bowling Hall of Fame in 2015 for superior performance.
Doug loved animals, horse racing, casinos, working on cars, attending NASCAR races and other sporting events, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Doug was known to pick up stray animals off the highway and give them a loving home.
He was preceded in death by his love of his life for 25 years, Bonnie L. Grove, who also passed away in the accident.
FROSCH - There will be no calling hours for Douglas Charles Frosch, who died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, with the Rev. Peter deVries, Ph.D., pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Toledo, Ohio at a later date.
Memorials for Doug may be directed to Maumee Valley Save-a-Pet, 5250 Hill Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43615.
Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
