To Elaine's family-
I worked with Elaine at Butler Hospital - the child/adol unit. It was evident to all who worked with her that she was such a special person - caring, thoughtful, and so much fun. In her eyes you could see a compassionate, intelligent, spiritual person. I feel lucky and blessed for having known her. You are all in my thoughts and prayers - I know she will be sorely missed.

I first met Elaine as a fellow member of the Treatment Team. I remember sitting at lunch time and laughing with her and several other members of Family First. Elaine was truly a wonderful person--always ready with a listening ear. She also was an excellent hostess. She cared about everyone with whom she came into contact. We've lost a truly amazing friend.

Elaine was in my home room for 3 years in high school. (We were acquaintances at that time.) We became reconnnected in 1997 as I became a volunteer at the Family Services of Butler Memorial Hospital. For the next four and one half years, I interacted with Elaine and other members of the Treatment Team every Monday night. I have such fond memories of these years. Elaine was a very caring and giving person. Her smile I will always remember! She made the absolute best salad, too. Anytime our Treatment Team got together for a dinner, I always hoped she would make the salad with apples and garlic dressing. She touched my life and made me a better person for having known her. Thanks Elaine for the wonderful fellowship, good conversations, good food and for your constant compassion for others. I will miss you!!

I Did Not Die
Mary E Faye

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

Please know that we all here for you and we are just a phone call away.
