Eliza O’Donnell Obituary

Eliza J. O'Donnell, 42, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025.
She was the daughter of Jean (Doerr) and David M. O'Donnell. Eliza was taken from her family too soon, but she lived a life defined by resilience, bravery and optimism.
After homeschooling as a child, Eliza later earned two associate degrees from Butler County Community College and continued her education at Slippery Rock University.
A third-degree black belt, Eliza was an instructor at Engage Martial Arts (formerly ATA). Eliza's love of learning and teaching impacted the lives of many: facing profound health challenges after being diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder, Eliza's resilience led her to tirelessly advocate for herself and others facing the same issues. She co-founded a support group for people with connective tissue disorders and also served as an admin for an adrenal insufficiency support group.
Eliza will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister and aunt. She remained a vital member of her extended family until her passing and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents; her five siblings, Gabriel (Kim), Ezekiel (Cassie Pisone), Alaina and Elizabeth O'Donnell and Mollie O'Donnell Sipe; and her five beloved nephews, Finnegan and Desmond O'Donnell, and Milo, Arlo and Jozy Sipe. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
O'DONNELL - Family and friends of Eliza J. O'Donnell, who died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

My prayers go out to the whole family. A good loving family. You gave Eliza so much of your time & care but that's what a loving family does. I have followed her everyday on Facebook and I could see her failing but she kept going with that smile of hers. She was always seeing what she could do next to help herself get better or easier. God bless you all. She isn't suffering anymore. Prayers for you. I will always think about you all & how many times over the years the whole family came to PT!!

To the family of Eliza, her strong presence on FB will be missed. Always reading her posts made me think of a woman on a personal mission. Never have I seen anyone with her strong will be an advocate for herself and others. There is no doubt she has left her personal mark on the face book community and the Butler community. Her smile was contagious and her love of her family and God's creation was evident in how she lived her life. Eliza, you will be missed but your legacy will live on in all the hearts of the people who were Blessed to know you. Rest in the arms of your angels now, knowing you have met The Creator Himself. My condolences to all who knew and loved this sweet angel.
