Emelio A. 'Tony' Noto
Emelio A. "Tony" Noto, 88, of Evans City died Thursday at Valencia Woods Nursing Center
Born March 31, 1917, in Forward Township, he was the son of Bruno and Mary Rose DeSantis Noto.
Mr. Noto was a World War II Army veteran and was awarded eight Bronze Stars and a Bronze Arrowhead.
He worked for more than 20 years at the Wildwood Coal Mine and retired from the Tesone Coal Co. Mr. Noto was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and St. Matthias Catholic Church in Evans City.
He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn I. Peaco Noto, whom he married July 6, 1942; a son, Joseph A. Noto and his wife, Susan, of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Patricia Holt and her husband, Scott, of Ovilla, Texas; a sister Catherine Enslen of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Lorraine Schetgen and her husband, Michael Aaron, of Charlotte, N.C., and Steven Noto and his wife, Kelly, of Granger, Ind. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph V. Noto.
NOTO - Friends of Emelio A. "Tony" Noto, who died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthais Catholic Church, Evans City, with the Rev. William J. Ritzert officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Evans City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthias Catholic Church Building Fund, 417 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
