Ernest L. Mieri
Ernest L. Mieri, 73, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday morning at the UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.
Born March 13, 1933, in Clairton, he was the son of Achilles Mieri and Margaret Vigoletti Mieri DeDomenic.
He was a school bus driver for 27 years for the Northgate, Pine-Richland and the Pittsburgh schools. He later was a driver for Eckerd Drugs, Cranberry Township.
Mr. Mieri was a Korean War Army veteran and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505, the AMVETS and the Disabled American Veterans.
He was a Catholic.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian Garver Mieri, whom he married July 2, 1982; two daughters, Maryanne Ernst of Baden and Gina Mieri of Pittsburgh; two sons, Ernest A. Mieri of Las Vegas and Joseph A. Mieri of Ohio; a stepson, Wayne Sauer of Chippewa; four sisters, Joan Jaskol of Clairton, Josephine Petrucci of Pittsburgh, Connie DePaolo of Pleasant Hills and Jeanne Castellano of Shaler Township; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, Angel and Taffy.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Mieri.
MIERI - Friends of Ernest L. Mieri, who died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. Burial will be at the Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
