Ethan Lumley Obituary

Ethan Ryan Lumley, 29, of Portersville, passed away Friday afternoon, June 20, 2025.
Born Jan. 7, 1996, he was the only child of Charles R. and Beverly A. French Lumley.
He was a 2014 Slippery Rock Area High School graduate.
After graduation, he attended CDA Technical Institute in Jacksonville, Fla., where he earned his commercial diver certification as an unrestricted surface supplied diver for both domestic and international waters, an admirable achievement at such a young age.
Immediately following graduating from CDA, he was employed as an underwater bridge inspector where he received the Dive Technician of the Year Award, while working nationwide and internationally. He excelled, and in a short period of time, gained government clearances, enabling his employment as a commercial diver in various nuclear facilities. During his career, he was among a select group of divers participating in a record deep dive. After traveling the United States, he most recently worked as a heavy equipment operator.
Ethan was a man of purpose, excelling at anything he undertook with a passion for learning. Most of all, he is remembered as a kind, generous, compassionate, giving, intelligent and loving soul who left a footprint on this earth wherever he went. He will be tremendously missed and forever remembered and loved.
He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Bev Lumley of Portersville; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Eleanor French of Harmony; aunts and uncles, Vanessa (Rodney) McCall, Michael (Charlotte) French, Jamie (Lisa) French, Gene Lumley, Brian (Becky) Lumley and Larry (Brenda) Lumley Jr.; and many cousins, especially his closest cousin and best friend, Parker (Jules) Lumley.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Hazel "Betty" (Bob) Vogel; his paternal grandfather, Larry Lumley Sr.; and his paternal great-grandparents, Bob and Ellen Walton.
LUMLEY - Private services for Ethan Ryan Lumley, who died Friday, June 20, 2025, were held by the family, with interment at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville Cemetery, Portersville.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
