Harold Joseph Waldron, 75, of Buffalo Township, died Friday at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot.
Born in Swissvale on Dec. 13, 1927, he was the son of Harold Joseph and Esther Domhoff Waldron.
Mr. Waldron and his wife designed and built the Buffalo Golf Course near Sarver. The course opened in 1967.
He graduated from Swissvale High School and was awarded a full scholarship to Carnegie Tech, from which he graduated in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Mr. Waldron served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1950 to 1952 at Camp Belvoir in Washington, D.C. He then worked as a mechanical engineer at Mesta Machine in Pittsburgh.
He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Panthers football fan, holding season tickets for more than 50 years.
He was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners Association and a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed all types of music, and he was an avid reader of American history, military history and mysteries.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Davis Waldron, whom he married in January 1953; two daughters, Margaret E. Vento of Sarver and Laura C. Franklin of Yardley; a son, Kenneth H. Waldron of Sarver; a sister, Esther Waldron of Concordia Lutheran Home; and six grandchildren.
WALDRON - Friends of Harold Joseph Waldron, who died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Middlesex Methodist Cemetery in Mars with the Rev. Jeff Borrin, a family friend, officiating.
