Joanna Preston Obituary

Preston, Joanna Mae Born September 20, 1930 in Germantown, OH and entered her eternal home on Friday, August 24. Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Sarah Marker, her husband of 53 years William (Bill) Preston, and her sister Betty Noordhoff. Joanna is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Gary Williams of Grapevine and Judy and Derek Howle of Murphy; two sons and their wives Greg and Jasmine Preston of Sachse and Tom and Tamara Preston of Allen; brothers Ralph Marker of Milwaukee, WI and Donald Marker of Vandelia, OH; and 13 grandchildren - Lindsey Lauer; Ashley, Kevin, Matthew and Samantha Preston; Brandon, Blake, Brian and Brady Howle; Devin, Adam and Corey Castillo; and Cory Williams. Joanna grew up in Germantown, OH and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH. She and Bill met in the Dayton Chorale, and music was an important part of both their lives. Joanna taught elementary education in Ohio, South Carolina, Florida and Texas for several years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Faith Hospice or to the Music Dept. at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church, where Joanna and her husband Bill were choir members for over 30 years.
