Joseph P. Holfelder, 27, of West Sunbury passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at home.
Joseph was born on Aug. 22, 1994, in Butler, and was the son of Mark Holfelder and Kathleen "Kitty" McElhenny Holfelder.
Joseph was a 2012 graduate of Moniteau High School, where he played many sports. He had previously attended Butler Catholic schools.
He was a member of St. Faustina Parish, and had attended St. Louis Church.
He was employed as a utility inspector for American Energy.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Mark and "Kitty"; one sister, Marcella F. Holfelder of Maine; one brother, Mark H. Holfelder Jr. of Boyers; and many aunts and uncles.
HOLFELDER - A memorial visitation for the family and friends of Joseph P. Holfelder, who died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
A blessing service will be at held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Adam Verona of St. Faustina Parish officiating.
Burial will be private.

I grew up with Joe through Butler Catholic. I haven't seen him in years but whenever I'm looking back on BCS with someone, a funny or fond Joe moment is always brought up. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
