Katherine M. Cybert

1919 - 2018

Katherine M. Kubis Cybert, 98, of Saxonburg, formerly of Plum Borough, passed away Wednesday at Concordia Ministries of Cabot, where she was a resident since 2014.
She was born Nov. 15, 1919.
Katherine was preceded by her beloved husband of 67 years, Joseph John Cybert; and her parents, Steven and Mary Grech Kubis.
She was the cherished mother of Edward (Phyllis) Cybert of Severn, Md., and Dorothy (Ted) Petrosky of Saxonburg.
All of her devoted family of sisters and brothers also preceded her in death: Mary Eagle, Steve Kubis Jr., Anna Tesauro, Sophia Ewashko, Helen Boka, Victoria Cuff and Raymond Kubis, all of whom grew up with her in the town of Rockwood, Pa.
Surviving are her much loved grandchildren, Kevin (Wendy) Cybert, Shelley (Jim) Potter, TJ (Lindsay) Petrosky and Joanna (Tyler) Wood; and her dear great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan, Michael, Andrew, Theoren and Zoey.
Katherine was admired by many treasured nieces and nephews, especially Lisa, Tess, Patty, Mary and Joey, Raymie and Jimmy.
Katherine's long enduring physical and mental strength, spirit and creativity were an inspiration to all who knew her. She enjoyed reminiscing, cooking, gardening, fishing, reading, puzzles, making a comfortable home for her family, cheering on the Steelers and surrounding herself with colorful medleys of flowers and plants all while baking delicious desserts for her family and friends.
Besides being a homemaker, Katherine was a long time employee of Kaufmann's of Monroeville.
CYBERT - According to the wishes of the family of Katherine M. Kubis Cybert, who died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, visitation was private.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. John the Baptist Church in Plum.
Arrangements were entrusted to Soxman Funeral Homes in Pittsburgh.
