Margaret Collingwood
Margaret Joyce Collingwood, 77, of Emlenton died at 12:54 p.m. Sunday in the emergency room at Clarion Hospital after a long illness. She had been a resident at the Clarview Nursing Home, Sligo, for the past year.
Born Oct. 7, 1927, in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Meade and Nora Lineman McCoy.
Mrs. Collingwood retired in 1991 as a cafeteria monitor for Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District.
She was a member of the Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom and the women of the church. She also was active in church activities at the Whitehall Church of God Campground in Emlenton.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Marlin W. Collingwood, whom she married in Arnold on Aug. 4, 1948; two daughters, Deborah S. Southworth and friend, Dan Whitehill, and Monica A. Heal and husband, Robert, all of Emlenton; a son, Marlin W. Collingwood II and friend, Gary Girton, of Boston; four grandchildren, Jesse L. Armstrong of Oil City, Clinton B. Armstrong of Albuquerque, N.M., Adrian R. Southworth and wife, Lena, of Emlenton and E6 Levi D. Southworth and wife, Nicole, of Ingleside U.S. Naval Base, Ingleside, Texas, currently serving in the Persian Gulf; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob L. and Alexis R. Armstrong of Oil City, and Jordyn and Jaimes Southworth of Ingleside, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald McCoy.
COLLINGWOOD - A celebration of life service for Margaret Joyce Collingwood, who died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Park Hill Church of God, West Freedom. A reception for friends and family will follow at the church. The Rev. Lonny Wolford, church pastor, and the Rev. John Davis, a Church of God pastor, will officiate.
HILE FUNERAL HOME, Emlenton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Patient Recreation Fund at Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo.
