Margaret J. Swigart, 86, of Karns City, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021.
She was born March 12, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (McElroy) Shakley.
She married William M. Swigart on Oct. 2, 1964, and he died Jan. 28, 2008.
Margaret worked at Magnetics for 42 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Community Church, The Red Hats, Chicora Senior Center, The Ladies Auxiliary to the Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department, and The Donegal Grange.
She is survived by her nephew, Emile and his wife, Laureen Vlassich; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; her sisters-in-law, Sally Swigart, Emma Protzman, Sandy Hilderbrand; and a brother-in-law, Don Swigart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Swigart; three sisters, Ruth Vlassich, Florence Kocher and Betty Lou Adams; and a brother, Ike Shakley.
SWIGART - Friends of Margaret J. Swigart, who died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Sapp officiating.
Interment will be held Monday. She will be interred beside her husband in Oak Grove Cemetery, 2167 PA-268 Chicora.
